As most of people know diabetes type 1 typically appears in childhood or adolescence, but it’s also possible to develop adulthood. In diabetes type 1 Insulin production becomes inadequate for the control of blood glucose by destruction of islets of Langerhans so they can’t make those hormones which control the levels of blood glucose. As we know the exact cause of diabetes isn’t clear but scientists have found some reasons. First, susceptibility genes which are clear for us to be inherited. scientists do believe over 90% of patients develop type 1 diabetes this way. Some populations like Scandinavians and Sardinians are more likely to have susceptibility genes. Second, Auto antigens, the proteins which are released or exposed during normal pancreas beta cell turnover or injury such as that caused by infection. The auto antigens activate an immune response resulting in beta cell destruction. Third, Coxsackie Viruses, Rubella virus, Cytomegalic virus, Epstein-Barr virus and Retroviruses are among those that have been linked to type 1 diabetes. Fourth, the Diet, infant exposure to dairy products, high nitrates in drinking water and lack of vitamin D have also been linked to the development of type 1 diabetes.
